This and the next two species all resemble poeciloptera Grunberg in
the crenulate forewing fasciae, the basal one of the stronger pair being
angled subcostally. All the Bornean species have a broader, more diffuse,
longitudinal dark streak from the discal spot to the margin. This species
shows local variations. Specimens taken on the Mulu survey and in Brunei
are a uniform rosy brown, the type series from Pontianak in Kalimantan is
a deep rich brown, darker and less rufous between the strong fasciae, and
a pair from Bidi in S. Sarawak are somewhat intermediate. The male
genitalia are diagnostic, with a broad, triangular cubile, the valves
basally swollen and the aedeagus with a small ventral spine and a small
vesica bearing needle-like spines.
