Stauropus bipunctus Rothschild,
1917, Novit. zool. 24: 246, type loc. Penang.
Fentonia bipuncta Rothschild; Kiriakoff, 1968: 190, gives type
loc. as Sumatra, erroneously.
Diagnosis. Both this and Fentonia talboti Gaede
comb. n. have unmistakable elongate ashy grey
forewings traversed by crenulate darker fasciae. F. bipunctus is
distinguished by the possession of two black spots just interior to the post-
medial.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The species has been taken infrequently in lowland
forest at Labi and Ulu Temburong in Brunei, singly in lowland mixed dipterocarp
forest on both Mulu and Api transects in the Mulu survey, singly in lower
montane forest on
