15-16mm. The wings are satiny white, with mottled
reflective areas produced by extensive areas of broad, shiny scales. The discal
spot is faint, if present, and the fringes are often greyish. The frons has a
broad rufous bar that extends from a line just at the antennal bases to well
below the upper level of the eyes. The palps are paler rufous. The legs are only
weakly spotted. The male genitalia have the uncus rather setose, rounded, but
not bilobed and rugose as in bilobuncus. The valves are somewhat
rectangular, but with the distal margin excavate between a rounded ventral angle
and a distinctively thorn-like dorsal angle. The harpe is slender, setose and
slightly sinuous, as long as the valve.
