"Euproctis" sp.
1135
Euproctis
irrorata Moore,
sensu Holloway, 1976: 47.
Diagnosis and taxonomic notes. The male is a uniform pale brown, except for a
vaguely darker postmedial on the forewing. A superficial resemblance to Orvasca
irrorata Moore (See Orvasca Walker
Gen.rev.) from Java is not supported by the male
genitalia which do not relate to any other grouping in the tribe, particularly
the broad aedeagus with a massive cornutus, and the relatively long, curved
uncus. The valve shape is also distinctive. Further material in better condition
is needed to establish the status of this taxon.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The single male was taken at 1930m on G. Kinabalu.
