Somena sp. 1730
Diagnosis. A single worn male of a further Somena species was taken in
Sarawak at 130m near the western end of the Melinau Gorge on the bank of a river
terrace between alluvial forest and wet heath (kerangas) forest. The facies is
of the female similis type. The genitalia are typical of Somena: the
uncus is broad, not constricted as in similis; the valves are less deeply
bifid, the bifurcations more splayed.
