Diagnosis. The distribution of black markings, an irregular medial band and
submarginal spot, on the brown forewing is unmistakable.
Taxonomic note. This species shares the unusual juxta and aedeagus features of atereta
and allies.
Geographical range. Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.
Habitat preference. Most of the few records are from the lowlands of
Brunei, mainly from heath and swamp forest, but one male was taken at 1465m on
Bukit Retak. The species has also been taken singly in lowland forest near the
Danum Valley Field Centre.
