Diagnosis and taxonomic
note. This and the next species are
the largest in Borneo and have something of the facies of the first group, but
are distinguished by the presence of the discal dots. The submarginal has more
pronounced linearity and irregularity of course. Distinction of the two species
is presented in the diagnosis of the next. Bornean specimens differ from typical
Sumatran bipunctalis in having the costal part of the valve apex more
strongly produced.
Geographical range. Sumatra,
Java, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The
species is infrequent in lowland dipterocarp forest, and occurred with slightly
greater frequency in lower montane forest at 1000m on G. Mulu during the Mulu
survey.
