Diagnosis. This
is the largest of the Bornean species with crimson fasciae edged with black and
a marginal band of slightly paler red with a zig-zag inner margin. The discal
spot is black and single in both sexes, round in the female, more elliptical in
the male.
Geographical range. N.E.
Himalaya, Sundaland.
Habitat preference. The
species is frequent in lowland forest, extending more weakly into lower montane
forest up to 1000m.
