12mm. This species differs from frigida in having more prominent white wedges at the forewing margin and more white delineation of the veins in the medial area and around the typical subbasal spots. The hindwings are medium grey with irregularly paler margins. The genitalia have elongate, simply divided valves, the saccular portion curved over the apical section. The aedeagus vesica is rather globular with a group of about a dozen robust cornuti opposite a looser group of half that number of smaller ones.

Paratypes: 1as holotype; 1 SARAWAK: Gunong Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Exped. 1977-8 (J.D. Holloway et al.), Site 12, February, FEG 2, Mulu, 200m. 386469, mixed dipt. for.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. This is probably a rare lowland forest species, the Kinabalu material being collected at a time when higher altitudes were relatively inaccessible.
