Euphalacra
discipuncta Holloway comb. n.
Ectothyris discipuncta Holloway,
1976: 92.
Diagnosis. The wing pattern of brown on rather translucent white is rather
irregular. The brown discal spots of both wings are within translucent areas,
that of the hindwing being very much smaller than that of the forewing. The
marginal shade of the forewing is stepped near the tornus, a feature better
observed on the underside.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The holotype was from Mesilau at 1500m on the Pinosuk
Plateau of G. Kinabalu. Material taken subsequently consists of four specimens
from the western end of the Melinau Gorge, Sarawak: one from a bank (130m)
between alluvial forest and a river terrace with heath forest; three from
dipterocarp forest at 250m on the lower slopes of the limestone G. Api.
