Berta
anteplaga Prout
Berta anteplaga Prout, 1916, Novit. zool., 23: 208.
Berta chrysolineata Walker,
sensu Holloway, 1976: 63 (partim), fig. 431.
Diagnosis. The species has the colour and marking of B. albiplaga but
is distinguished by a large, rather trapezoid white patch at the centre of the
forewing costa.
Taxonomic
notes. The Bornean specimen shares
general features of the eighth sternite (a moustache-like sclerotisation) and
genitalia (a digitate lobe from the distal end of the groove on the valve), but
the former is more rectangular, less of a chevron, and the latter is broader,
more rounded than in typical anteplaga (Fig 403).
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya; Borneo.
Habitat preference. The single Bornean specimen was taken at 1500m in the Mesilau
Plateau of G. Kinabalu.
