Sundadoxa
multidentata Prout comb. n.
Hypodoxa multidentata Prout,
1916, Novit. zool., 23: 8.
Diagnosis. See the generic account. The species resembles a rather 'dirty' Pingasa
species, but can be distinguished by the dark bar of raised scales just
interior to the hindwing discal mark and, in the males, similar raised dark
scales at the base of the forewing. Pingasa species also have raised
scales but these are in a different configuration, usually not conspicuously
darker. (Pingasa
Moore)
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. Recent surveys have recorded the species infrequently
in lowland and lower montane forests, a number of the Mulu survey records being
from the limestone G. Api.
