Diagnosis. The species is darker, more mauve in tone than malakarius, with
the hindwing medial fasciae more irregular, particularly anteriorly. The white
submarginal flecks are more prominent.
Geographical range. Sumatra, S. Thailand, Borneo, Palawan, and probably
also in Peninsular Malaysia.
Habitat preference. The species is rare in lowland forest.
