Diagnosis. See Cossus chloratus
Swinhoe. The uniserrate/pectinate antennae of the male have
the pectinations tapering away over the apical quarter only rather than over the
whole length.
Taxonomic notes. The male genitalia of typical Javan material have the valves somewhat
narrower and more subapically constricted than elsewhere in the geographical
range. The forewing pattern appears to be similar, however.
Geographical range. Java; Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The species is found in lowland rainforest.
