14mm. The ground colour is yellow, but mostly obscured by a dark, dull
purple as illustrated, leaving only an oblique, irregular medial bar of
yellow and irregular margins bisected by a tooth from the purple. The
hindwing has a white discal mark surrounded by darker purple. There are
small red spots at the margin of both wings on the veins. The species is
the size of the Plutodes like species such as dracontias, but
in facies and in the white hindwing disc it resembles much smaller species
such as C. remutans Prout. The male genitalia are
also similar to those of the latter but the uncus is cleft and the process
on the valve is slightly flexed subapically.
