Perixera perscripta


Diagnosis. This species resembles thermosaria but is larger and less heavily flecked with black on the hindwing. Identification should be confirmed by examination of the genitalia (see above).

Taxonomic notes. P. multipunctata Warren comb. & stat. rev. (New Guinea) has female genitalia as in perscripta, but the male has much narrower valves and a more robust brush between the coremata as in thermosaria.

Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya; Borneo, Sulawesi (ssp. cedens).

Habitat preference. The only Bornean specimen is a female from 1930m on G. Kinabalu.
