Perixera
confiniscripta Warren comb. rev.
Perixera confiniscripta Warren,
1896, Novit. zool., 3: 374.
Perixera confiniscripta rubripuncta Warren,
1897, Ibid., 4: 394.
Diagnosis. (See P. pictimaculis). The enlarged and basally displaced
postmedial dots on vein M2 of both wings are also seen in P. punctata
Warren, but the hindwing discal spot is larger, darker, with a pale centre in
that species.
Taxonomic notes. There are coremata on the male fourth sternite, but otherwise features
typical of Perixera are lacking. There is a distinctively flexed bundle
of hairs at the end of each corema. The uncus is broadly bifid.
Geographical range. Tenimber, Kei Is., New Guinea, Sulawesi, Borneo,
Peninsular Malaysia.
Habitat preference. Only a few Bornean specimens have been seen, two
taken in lowland alluvial forest during the Mulu survey, and another at Bidi,
also in the lowlands of Sarawak.
