Perixera
sabulosa Warren comb. n.
Conchocometa sabulosa Warren,
1895, Novit. zool., 2: 91.
Diagnosis. The pale, rather uniform, lightly fasciated fawn wings are diagnostic.
The next two species are more strongly fasciated on a paler ground, their
forewing medials more oblique, converging with the postmedials towards the costa. The forewing discal spot is enlarged, pale, lenticular in sabulosa, but
a black dot in the other two species.
Taxonomic notes. There are coremata on the fourth sternite, and the hind-tibia is short,
with the femur bearing a tuft of scales, but no other Perixera features
are present. The uncus is digitate, the valves complex as illustrated. The
species typifies Conchocometa.
Geographical range. Java, Borneo, Philippines.
Habitat preference. Both Bornean specimens are from Bidi in the lowlands
of Sarawak.
