Synegia asymbates Prout; Holloway, 1976:83 (part; fig 647 is of imitaria
Walker).
Diagnosis. The ground colour of this species is a more vivid yellow than in other
Bornean species, and the markings are orange rather than grey, giving a brighter
appearance. The fasciae are weaker than in obscura and similar species,
particularly the forewing antemedial which is reduced to points on the veins.
Geographical range. Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia.
Habitat preference. The species is rare, recorded from upper montane
forest on G. Kinabalu and Bukit Retak.
