Diagnosis. This is the smallest and palest of the Bornean species. The fasciae are
pinkish grey with dark brown dots on the veins, and the rest of the wing is
speckled with black brown rather than orange. A few specimens have the posterior
part of the medial zone of the forewing more extensively dark brown.
Taxonomic notes. The holotype female of nigritibiata agrees in facies and
genitalia with decolorata; it is the only specimen from the Philippines
examined.
Geographical range. New Guinea, S. Moluccas, Sulawesi, Philippines,
Borneo, Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia.
Habitat preference. This is predominantly an upper montane forest species
and is often common, but it also occurs in lower montane forest.
