Diagnosis. The patches on the wings are more irregular, the distal fused with the
basal on both wings by a central projection from the basal one on the forewing.

Taxonomic notes. The facies bears some resemblance to the S. Indian P. nilgirica Hampson
but the male genitalia are different. P. nilgirica has a rounded apex to
the valve and a pick-axe shaped vesica well endowed with cornuti.
Geographical range. Borneo, Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi.
Habitat preference. The two original specimens were taken at 1620m on G.
Kinabalu.
