SUBFAMILY AEDIINAE

Ecpatia triangulata sp. n. (Plate 2, Figs 78, 81)

GG 10‑11mm. This species is more variegated on the forewing than the previous three, with the discal and basal areas extensively paler, two definite striae at the marginal angle and a clearly defined pale circle at the tornus. The general colour is also browner. In the male genitalia the peniculus lobes are diagnostically prominent and triangular. The valve is similar to that of the previous species, except the cucullus is more elongate, and has its exterior margin produced in a basally directed lobe at the point of constriction. The harpe is similar to that of ovifera, but the ovate plates at the base of the costa are absent. The aedeagus vesica has a much longer cornutus than in the species discussed above, two patches of deciduous setae, and a further sclerite with a slight lobe at one end.
