Diagnosis. Intermediate in size between pavo
and the next species, fumipennis has the dark orange apical zone of the
forewing shorter than in pavo and the basal area is more leaden grey.
The hindwing is mostly brown but with a diffuse yellow medial band and a yellow
margin.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra,
Borneo.
Habitat preference. Two specimens have been recorded from
disturbed lowland forest at Labi (30-60m) in Brunei.
