Ramadasa plumbeola
Warren (Plate 2, Figs 37, 45)
Ramadasa
plumbeola Warren, 1916, Novit. zool.,
23: 210.
Ramadasa plumbeola Warren; Kobes, 1997: 56.
Diagnosis. The smallest species in Borneo, plumbeola
has a darker, browner distal part of the forewing, with the apical patch
smaller than in fumipennis and bounded by a narrower dark brown band.
The subtornal dark spot seen in fumipennis is lacking in plumbeola.
The hindwings are uniform brown above, except for yellow narrowly around the
dorsal margin.
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya, Sumatra, Borneo,
Bali.
Habitat preference. All three specimens recorded in recent
surveys are from lowland forest: at Labi in Brunei (as fumipennis); in
alluvial forest at 70m near the foot of G. Mulu; in dipterocarp forest on
limestone at 250m on the slopes of G. Api. Martini & Thöny (1993) recorded
a singleton at 950m (Apin Apin) on G. Trus Madi in Sabah.
