Arctornis rufimarginata Swinhoe

Diagnosis. This is a small, rather delicate species with relatively deep forewings.
The wings are a uniform, slightly creamy white with golden-brown fringes and
forewing costa. There is a weak discal dot. The palps are golden-brown, the
frons completely rufous brown. The legs are unspotted. The male genitalia have
the uncus narrow. There is a diagnostic spur at the centre of the valve costa
and a longer spine at the base of the sacculus.
Geographical range. Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia (female only).
Habitat preference. The original material was from the low-lying island
of Pulo Laut. Three specimens were taken in hill dipterocarp forest at 150m and
500m (2) on the slopes of G. Mulu.
