Diagnosis. Smaller than most congeners, argentistriga is also a paler
yellow. The forewing becomes more intensely suffused brown towards the forewing
apex, with an obliquely, darker brown line and an arc of silver submarginal
lunules within it. The hindwing is marked by a silvered discal dot and the
straight fasciae postmedially (fine) and antemedially (broad).
Geographical range. Sundaland, Burma; Sulawesi (ssp. brevilinea).
Habitat preference. The species is uncommon, with most records from
lowland forest except for one from lower montane forest on G. Api (900m) and one
from 1500m on G. Kinabalu.
