Diagnosis. The wings are the characteristic mottled green, grey and white of
the genus, but with a diagnostic white patch subtornally on the forewing. Below,
the broad dark band submarginally on the forewing is invested with rufous
patches.
Taxonomic notes. The Sulawesi race has minor genitalic differences: the valve is
broader, less bulbous dorsally at the apex: the aedeagus vesica has small
scobinate patch of sclerotisation near the base.
Geographical range. Sundaland; Sulawesi (ssp. celebensis).
Habitat preference. The species has been taken infrequently in a variety of lowland
forest types, including heath forest. One specimen was taken in lower montane
forest at 900m on G. Api and one at 1620m on G. Kinabalu.
