Euxena
albiguttata Warren
Chlorodontopera albiguttata Warren,
1894, Novit. zool. 1: 387.
Euxena crypsichroma Warren,
1896, Novit. zool. 3: 366.
Diagnosis. This species and Episothalma
robustaria Guenée (Episothalma
robustaria) are superficially similar in wing shape and
facies. The black discal spots are smaller on the upperside of E. robustaria but
recur on the underside: they are absent from the underside of albiguttata. In
both species the males are mainly yellow below, the females clouded dark greyish:
in albiguttata the submarginals are stronger, but in robustaria the
postmedials are stronger, that on the hindwing much more sharply angled than in albiguttata.
Males are a more intense orange yellow below.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Java,
Sulawesi.
Habitat preference. No material has been taken in recent
surveys, but older material is mostly from lowland localities.
