Diagnosis. This and the next species have the enlarged white spot in the
postmedial at the forewing dorsum. They are best distinguished by the male
genitalia as indicated below. T. hypocrites has more distinctly
red margins to the wings that contain white spots at the vein ends in the cilia.
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The species is rare. Three specimens were taken in lower montane
forest at 900m on the limestone G. Api during the Mulu survey and one at 1618m
on Bukit Retak, Brunei. The holotype from Singapore is H.N. Ridley material and
may have been mislabelled.
